  • Aug 18th:  Today these trees were cut down in Riverside Park's Bird Sanctuary, despite the Sanctuary's designation as a "Forever Wild" area.  That's the Viewing Platform at the top, which is located on Riverside Drive, across from Grant's Tomb.

  • Red-tailed Hawk (adult)
  • Another photo of the Red-headed Woodpecker, taken on February 17th.  The throat and neck are very red.
  • 17 February 2007:  Two months later, and the Red-headed Woodpecker is showing signs of maturity! There's more red on the head, and less barring on the right wing.
